Chilean Copper Production Down Slightly by 0.7% in March 2024

According to the Mining.com website, citing Reuters, the world's largest copper producer, Chile's National Copper Commission (Cochilco), released data on Friday showed that the country's copper production in March fell slightly, mainly due to the decline in production at the National Copper Company (Codelco) while the output of other major mines rose.

In March, Codelco, the world's largest copper producer, produced 107,300 tons, down 10.1 percent. BHP Billiton Holdings, the world's largest known copper deposit Escondida (Escondida) production of 101,400 tons, up 9.7%.

Glencore (Glencore) and Anglo American joint venture Collahuasi (Collahuasi) copper mine production of 49,800 tons, an increase of 16.1%.

Overall, the country's copper production in March output of 433,300 tons, down 0.7%.
